Have worked on this question, on and off, for weeks now and still am unable to decide what the answeris. Either I am reading the question wrongly or not realising the answer if I have come across it.
Can anyone help please?
The answer is a three word + 2 word answer ... the three words being something like Queen Elizabeth 1 and the two word answer her nickname like Virgin Queen.
The question is: Who owned up to being the founder of Westminster Abbey?
Thank you.

could Edward the Confessor be part of the answer
I'm thinking Edward the Confessor as the three-word answer ("owned up")
King Edward - Edward The Confessor
Sorry Jim - didn't see your answer .

Thank you Jim45, argorstran & dicmor ... the penny just dropped with the "owned up" part for confessor and that king was one of my possibilities. I wasn't able to make it match the 3word + 2word answer they required though. Perhaps the setter got the number of words the wrong way around.
Thank you very much for your help ... this one was driving me up the wall.
