Estate near Almer in Dorset

Whilst visiting Dorset recently i came across a huge estate that had a huge wall around it. It was near a place called Almer, and was near a pub called the World's end.

Does anyone know anything about this estate, like who owns it, and whether it is open to the public?

if its the place i think you mean on the A31 it is or was owned by the Drax family, i go past it often, my brother lives very close to it

oh I know that, drove past it on the way to Weymouth a few months ago  -we did measure the wall using the milometer on the car and it was something like 3 miles long

If you are ever that way again, look above one of the gates. It has a 5 legged Stag on it. Apparently when viewed from the house, the original stag looked as though it only had 3 legs so an extra one was added. There is a picture of it at www.follies.btinternet.co.uk/staggate
