On a Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830: am trying to transfer photos to my desktop. Have tried internet sites, with no success; the question has been asked before, but some answers are too confusing for a non-techie like me, others don't work, and another one asked for £11 for the advice. Not that I don't value it, but I don't want to afford it. I've connected phone to PC via USB; nothing happens on screen. Any ideas, please?
You need to download the Samsung KIES software from the Samsung website. Once downloaded and installed you should plug your phone into your PC via USB and use the software to move the photos.
Not saying that you shouldn't install KIES, BTW.... it's probably the easiest way to get the photos off, but the computer should detect the phone regardless.
My other half has the Galaxy Ace phone and it didn't come with a disc, in fact the box containing the phone was tiny so definitely no room for one. I miss the days when the software used to come with the phone.
Right....not getting anywhere with installing KIES. The first time I tried the internet connection was interrupted (thank you, BT!); second time it appeared to be working but I'm just getting the same 'installing hotfix' screen over and over again on the Installshield wizard. There was no disc with the phone.
I assume that the photos are stored on a micro SD card in the camera. If you get yourself an adaptor you'll be able to slot this card (in its adaptor) into a USB SD slot in your computer. (http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/default.php
