phone converting text to mms

samsung galaxy ace

when i do long text its converting it to mms.... it is giving me warning but i didnt know what it was on about so ignored it...til i saw my blooming bill. I phoned O2 and they said i need to go on samsung site and download something that will enable me to do longer texts without it converting but i have no idea what im looking for.... can anyone tell me what it is ?

Dunno - will have a look.

My galaxy does the same - once a message is over 3 times sms length (480 characters) it turns it into an mms. I just break the text just under the limit & send the rest as another message.

I suspect my long messages are because I won't use txtspk and insist on writing grammatically correct messages !!

How long are the texts you're sending!!! I think you can do up to 3 standard (160 character) texts before it converts to MMS and 480 characters is a hell of a text already....

Search the market place for bigsms and install it.

hi dave, yeah i dont use text speak and thanks for that, at least i know now it is the phone...thats what ive started doing, breaking the text up but its annoying lol

hi chuck, lol i dont normally do ones that long cos i really dont like texting but have been having a rather long conversation with a mate over the last few days.... thanks for the tip, ill go have a look and try to find it :)
