I've just seen this on our local news website:

I can understand the couple having to hand the car back as it was stolen but shouldn't the company (or their insurers) have had some liability for the missing rental and legal costs rather than the people who inadvertently bought the stolen car unless it's something to do with the fact they didn't initially hand it back (as it sounds)?

I'm talking more morally than legally I guess. May well make people think twice about buying something like a car in those circumstances though!

Iwould never buy something as dear as that on ebay, my daughter has picked up some bargains though.
You'd think the car hire company would at least drop the hire charges.
