nope
I wonder what other news this man's outburst is a cloak for?
I love the smell of hypocrisy in the morning news ...
I run a business, .................I like cash.
nope. I have suggested on the other thread that they could get a lot more unpaid tax out of Tory donors like Lord Ashcroft than out of plumbers.
Do you put it through the books? :-)

Your accountant wouldn't ask you that. ^ :-)
The problem is not the paying cash for jobs its the cash for discount - a lot of plumbers etc will knock the vat off for cash paid jobs - that is where the problem is!
as i said on the other thread, I do wonder what this bloke's out burst is a cloak for and what other news has been buried by it?
Agreed fgt/rh.

I'm happy enough to pay cash for small stuff (up to say £100) but don't expect/want a discount.

Above that I tend to insist on cheque or card, to ensure that it goes through the books and I have a pukka receipt.
Next time I buy an ice cream from an ice cream van, I'm going to ask for a proper invoice, and a receipt, and I will probably expect 14 days credit terms.

In fact, when I take my ice cream, I will ask for the invoice, and tell the ice cream man that my accounts dept. does a check run on the 30th of each month, and the ice cream will be paid for at the end of the month following receipt of the invoice.

The same will apply for ...

burger vans

fairground rides

the guy who sells roast chestnuts on Oxford Street

people selling The Big Issue

street muggers (if anyone snatches my bag, I will expect them to give me a receipt)
Oh Dearie Me ... you really should not throw stones if you live in a glass house :

and the cherry on the cake is that his wife is ... a tax avoidance lawyer ... oooops :

how surprised am I...

Politicians should never lecture on morality. It always goes wrong.
I struggle to see anything worse than the continuing rewards for abject failure.
In the context of this question of course, paedophilia and murder are worse, as are many other crimes.
