Thanks for the help folks, much appreciated. I thought it might be Ardross,
Kat but as I live pretty near the Forth I dismissed it as it isn't really around here. Probably another mistake by the setter.

Thanks for the link Kat, I found a list of Scottish Castles and Ardross wasn't on it, but then neither was Dunbar which is in a similar state of "disrepair" - thanks Mr. Cromwell! He did for a few other castles round here
