TVs with surround sound

We have a big old cathode ray tube type TV, with built in surround sound (bass speaker underneath, and speakers behind the sofa)

Does anyone do flat screen TVs with surround sound, or do you have to buy a home cinema system now?

you have to buy a surround sound system there's no room on new tv's for adequate sound quality apart from speech,
there is age choice of systems and not that expensive,
look in argos

I also hope they are going wireless, instead of having those annoying wires trailing everywhere.

I am actually planning to stick with the old monster for a while, but I like to check out the options in case it goes bang one day.
