We have been to Newstead Abbey in Notts, a really lovely place, peaceful walks round the lake and parkland, looked at the herbaceous borders and formal gardens. Only costs £6 per car including all passsengers - such brilliant value! Had a tasty lunch in the courtyard cafe. A really nice day ..................... a little treat of a day out while the weather lasts!
Have you been anywhere in the sunshine today? Commiserations to those at work! I worked for 41 years and now I love being retired.
Not done anything at all today, it's been one of those hot humid days that aren't good for doing anything. Glad you enjoyed Newstead Ann, we only live about a 20 minute drive from there but we've not been for years. It's strange how people drive for hours to visit some where and forget about what they have on their door step.
That sounds lovely ann86.
i am retired too. Today i went to Tiptree and had a lovely lunch at a pub called "New Times" pub and restaurant. The food was lovely and very reasonable.
On the way back we stopped at a farm shop and bought some raspberries and strawberries, so all in all it was a really lovely day out.
