Thanks everyone for your help. Boxtops, you said that one of the clues had been answered several times before. I always look in the 'search box' at the top of the page. I enter the name of the particular publication before I ask the question. Is there a special way of checking?

Yes - if you put "dragon to be quiet" i.e. part of the clue, in the search box, that's more reliable. Some people have headed up this crossword RT31 - so the clue is the best way to search. Give it a go!
