Racecourses are due to close down.

Irrespective of the views of pro and anti horse racing, it's quite a loss to the surrounding area. More jobs to go.
Very sad.

Very sad indeed. And no doubt the land is going to be built on so not only a loss of a racecourse but a loss of beatuiful open space in both of these towns.

Once we've lostthem, we can never get our green spaces back.
Hereford racecourse is close to town and is huge. It's used for other things too so don't know where these events will take place once it's shut.
Just a thought but wouldn't it be nice if Port Lymm Zoo Park expanded into the Folkestone race course? they're not far apart, from memory and it would use the open space.
It would be nice, but I doubt they could afford the land WyeD. If its been sold for housing it will have gone for millions.

Lets hope those millions go towards keeping some of the other courses open.
Here in Hereford there are loads of houses up for sale already. They have also closed the old cattle market in town, forcing lots of smaller retailers to close ur move and they now don't have the money to develop the site.
