Uneven floor and laminate flooring!
Hi ABers
My new house has a dip in the lounge floor which, I think, stems from the removeal of the old fireplace hearth. The dip is to the right in front of the chimney breast and is approximately 1.5cm at it's deepest and approximatele 35 cm in length. Before I rush out and buy "a shed load" of laminate flooring, my question is; will I be able to compensate for the dip with additional underlay, i.e. the board type rather than the roll out type or, a combination of both; without compromising the integrity of the flooring material?
TIA

You may try, it seems a reasonable possibility, but I'd not hold out a lot of hope. Underlay compresses, it would be difficult to know how much extra is needed. Ideally you need to lift the floor and do whatever is needed to ensure all is level. And if you do that you can find out why it occurs rather than assume you know.
