Do you wear a suit to work?

If so, how many times do you wear the trousers between laundering?

The government is now telling us to wash our clothes less often to save the planet. In my opinion, clean undies, socks and shirt is a daily necessity but if I've spent my work time sitting down in a clean, cool environment then I don't change my trousers every day.

If the government get its way there might be an opening for an entrepreneur here. Nosegays could come back into fashion.

I wouldn't wash my trousers every day - perhaps every couple of days, but I always change all underwear every day. Dresses and tops, depends how long I've had it on and what (as you say) the environment's been like, possible two wears before washing.

I remember the days when suits had to be dry cleaned and I usually ended up with a mismatched suit because the trousers would be cleaned much more often than the jacket.

Back in the day it wasn't unusual for a man to wear the same pair of suit trousers every day for a week (or more).

Back in the late 1950s we only had 1 wash day a week and you had to wear the same school uniform for a week until next wash day. We also only had 1 bath a week as the water had to be heated by lighting the coal fire in the living room. Even then me and my 2 brothers took turns to be first in the water for the bath. If you were 1st one week you were 3rd the next week. But guess what ? we are all still alive !

I remember that, hc, my dad would wear his for a week, but he had several pairs, 2 or 3 I think, so he could put on a clean pair the next week - once a month, the whole lot went to the cleaners.

I used to put my trousers in the wash on a Friday night and then put them on clean on a Monday morning. Everything else was changed daily.

I now have to wear a light blue polo shirt and I change them more frequently (They get covered in dust and it REALLY shows up).

blimey, is my husband grubby? He wears his trousers for a week, then sends them to the dry cleaners on a saturday

i work in a hospital and wear clean top and trousers (uniform) every day!

contains nylon and is really hot!

I wear a uniform and have 6 shirts, 3 trousers, 2 sweaters and 2 jackets. Shirts are worn once but trousers 2 times per weeks.

I guess I can go to work in my birthday suit if I wished, or a skirt, troos or whatever.....work from home - or a café.

My son and his wife have 3 children. Every night they are bathed, into clean vest and pants, clean pjs.
Next morning, clean vest and pants, entirely clean school uniform, off to school.
Come home, change in to clean casual clothes, than bath time and it starts all over again.

I cannot believe the amount of washing she does.
