I can't say I'm particularly glad personally - it's not my scene at all - but it's an accolade for the country to have won the right to host the Games - and so far it seems to be going well. It's bringing loads of visitors to the country.
Yep, nothing more to say.

I'm just rather concerned about how much it has cost. I actually think it should be held in Athens. Every year. All countries contributing to it. Seems insane that countries build all these facilities every four years.
It doesn't bother me either way, I suppose the visitors to this country are spending money which will boost the economy. We are taking our turn to stage the event, hopefully the income will cover the cost of putting the whole show together. In Weymouth the athletes quarters are newly built, and look great. At the moment they have no fitted kitchens, but once the athletes are gone the flats will be made into proper living accommodation and put on the market. I bet they will cost a few bob then.
I think its fantastic; I'm hugely proud of everyone taking part and of everyone who helped make it happen.
yes...we will never see the games here again...well not in my lifetime anyway...

Yes, everyone i know is loving it.
dont give a monkeys
Yes, gives us a chance to support our athletes who are not overpaid footballers.
Best of luck to all who have achieved Olympic selection. Their hard work is appreciated and is a fantastic example to youngsters.
Yes, it's just the sort of publicity we need right now.
It is a moral booster for many, which is what is needed. Personally, I am not upset about the Olympics being held in the UK, but I like your idea that they should always be held in Athens and participating countries contribute towards the cost, perhaps on an athlete number basis.

I would even go further and ban all team sports and semi;- or professional athletes.
Yes but I struggle to justify spending so much money on it.
i couldnt care less
