ITunes

For some reason I have lost iTunes and all the music I had put on there.

I have gone into the Apple web site to download iTunes & Quick Time & it appears to download successfully but when I double click on the iTunes icon I get the following message

iTunes has encountered a problem & needs to close.

Can anybody help
