I have a Fuji Finepix F20
It's been a good camera but I attached a 12.0v charger rather than the 5.0v charger and I think I killed it, as there is no life at all, even when attaching the correct charger.
Is it just the battery I killed or the entire camera?

Oh dear. I'd say you're definitely in the market for a new camera! All Fuji camera manuals say 'WARNING; Only use batteries or AC power adaptors specified for use with this camera. Do not use voltages other than the power supply voltage shown'.
Oops ... well i suspect that there is indeed protection after the 5.0v line, but it may well be a flor fuse of some description. Open it up and take a look !
Apologies --- what on earth is a ' flor fuse ' .... i distinctly wrote in capitals the word ' flor ' ...... goddamn modern technology.

With regard to the battery being possibly fried, you'll soon smell it if it is as i suspect it to be a LiOn or LiPo cell ....
ok - third time lucky ...

For some reason when i write the word ' p i c o ' in capitals as it should be written, AB is changing the letters to 'flor' thinking that it is an expletive !
Question Author
Can I ask what a flor fuse is?
(If AB allows the dreaded phrase)
Thanks
