I went abroad for 7 month and before going abroad i have cancelled all DD to my Step account but when I come back to England there is a DD in my account and there is a charge of 104.37od because the is no money in it. When I pay some money they deducted the charges but at the same time they send a solicitors letter to claim more money and which the amount i myself do not know where it come from. i went to the bank and pay in again..but at last they return the amount of 76.91 which they claim before but they do not return the 104.37.I really depressed
I went to the bank more than 10x to settle it but they keep saying it was my fault. I spend a lot to travel to the City center and the branch.I absent from class just to settle this matter.before goin abroad the officer of the bank told me not to worry as the DD has been cancelled.they has made several mistake which cost me and the feeling of dipress as the account will be closed soon.I write to the manager to refund back all the money within 5 working days. If they fail to comply to it i will take a legal action and asked for compensation. How much compensation can we claim for the case like this???
Another case is if they did not deducted the 104.37 I would never have overdrawn the 4.77 pound and they charge me for their mistake of 34.77pound.This has cost me again. What a badluck. What do you guys think about asking comoensation through my solicitor???
