There was a discussion on here recently about shop keepers fiddling the lottery win if someone brought a winning ticket in to their shop - well this one tried and failed!

Hope he gets the jail. Stealing..or trying to from an elderly woman. Terrible!!

Always take yr ticket back i suppose!!!! X

I always check the lottery site to find out if I have won. I would never rely on a shop as you will have no anonymity if you scoop the jackpot.

Dunno about anywhere else, but we can print out whether their claims a winner or not and give it to the customer. And we always ask if they want their ticket back regardless of whether they've won or not, and if they say no they dont- we tear it up before they've left the tills in front of them and bin 'em.

Saying that, a part of me cant blame the shop keeper (I know, I know) it must be oh so tempting!!!
