The author is L. M. Montgomery and the quote is from her 'Anne's House of Dreams'. However, there are two errors - 12H on the lower grid has been blacked out - it's W and 11F on the upper grid is T which doesn't fit with the lower grid which, according to the quote, must be C. Have I got this right ? - has anyone alerted the TLS ?

"Summer Acrostic" where on earth do you find this? Didnt know acrostics were available in UK. I do the NY Times.

The Times Literary Supplement publishes a Crossword every week but twice a year - summer and Christmas I think - has an acrostic puzzle. The one I'm referring to was in the 27 July issue of TLS - two days ago - try it.
Many thanks, walgraver!
I think most people are still struggling to persuade the Times web staff to get the acrostic up on their site, walgraver, so have not got as far as finding the errors within it. Are you working from a print copy of TLS, or have you found a way of getting round the "Sorry - there has been an error" problem on the web?
Question Author
I'm working from a print copy of the TLS as I usually do - at my local Library - I don't buy the TLS. I've emailed Robert Potts, TLS Managing Editor as I normally do when there is a problem with the Crossword or the acrostic - he is usually very helpful. So far I have not received a reply nor have any of the other regular AnswerBank correspondents been in touch so I don't know what the TLS response to the problem will be. If you or anyone else get some inf. please let me know.
Thanks, walgraver. If I find anything out I'll report it here.
Well, they finally got the on-line version working. It looks as if they may have made some corrections, as 12H now appears in the lower grid, as the first letter of the second word (WAS) and 11F forms the first letter of THOSE.
