Saturday evening at the Olympics

Can anyone tell me why we did not see the women's 100m final on BBC1 last night? We watched all evening and enjoyed the British success but suddenly the programme was over and the 100m. had not been shown? Did BBC1 not cover it because there was no British woman in it? It wasn't even mentioned on the news. Perhaps they covered it on one of the other channels but surely one of these voluble presenters should have said so.

i do however, have another gripe to add to yours.
as the 800m race was about to start, and the women came out onto the track - the bbc showed us a pre-recorded video clip of jessica talking and other snippets .. when it finished we switched back to the live feed, and were informed that we missed the roar of the crowd which accompanied jessicas' entry and introduction.
i like those little touches of crown reaction - and was therefore quite miffed that we were denied it.

She won it in 10.75 seconds so wouldn't have been hard to miss especially as there wasn't much coverage of it save the race itself and brief bit of immediately after (lying on the ground crying etc...). It just kind of appeared inbetween all the excitement over Mo Farrer and Jessica Ennis.
I was watching BBC1.
