When I bought this house people said....Oh a kitchen hatch...so old fashioned. Get rid of it.
But......if I sit one side of the hatch with the bottles in the kitchen I can just reach in and it doesn`t look as bad when unexpected visitors arrive as sitting with all the bottles in the living room.
I`m not so daft. :-)
