I am repeating a couple of questions for which I have not had answers to yet.

8d: "British pop star mostly emboldened" (6) s-e-l- I thought Shelia but she is French. Someone suggested Steely - would this fit being emboldened? Not sure.
28a: "Failed to notice obscurity in sound" (6) -i-s-r I thought of hisser or perhaps missed, but I'm sure the last r is correct. Cannot make anything fit the clue.

SO, are there any geniuses out there who can answer me these riddles please?

Thanks Oldred and Calibax - I think you have the right answers there. Looking at it again, my r in 28a could also be a d.

Thanks both of you.
