Hello
Can i by a switch where i can connect two desktops to it and a crossover switch for each PCand is this safe for each PC. I have a similar thing for one monitor and two PCs

Why not just network the 3 together ?

I'm unsure about the switch, it may depend on what type of connection the drive uses. but I'm not sure I'd recommend switching things over and back again while all is powered up.
Nope, not for USB.

If you happen to have a BT home hub you can plug the drive into that and it will be accessible to any computer on your home network, or you can buy USB NAS (network attached storage) adapters
