Norton is eating my computer
I've recently installed Norton 2006 on my computer and now it's crashing several times a day - with the message 'Symantec network proxy service has encountered a problem and needs to close'. I need to reboot each time. Is this a common problem? Is there any quick fix that doesn't require me to uninstall, or return to the shop and shoot someone?
Thanks in advance for any help; I may not be able to get online and acknowledge it. (I'm posting this from the office.)

This turns out to be part of Norton Internet Security. Even when you remove all Norton products there are still bits lurking there causing problems. There is even a procedure telling you how to do it manually from Symantec. I now run AVG far better, my pc is faster. I do not know why this is free ?
