dangerous site on Mcafee
Thanks for the alternative website chuckfickens. I think that dawg is going to be feeling mighty sore for a while!!!
and again i say, vet or not.
Poor thing she wouldn't be able to lay down with all those quills stuck in her. Curiosity killed the cat, it could easily have killed the poor dog.
We came across porcupine in the Rockies and were told to steer clear. One was under a seat and nobody sat there just in case, though they are harmless
left alone. Local dogs knew better than this unfortunate creature with possibly the stupidest owner in the world.
"and again i say, vet or not."

Do you really think that
1) a vets would have a table setup ready and waiting to deal with this within 30 seconds of the owner bringing the dog in

2) the vet doesn't need to take a picture to show what they had to deal with for medical or even possible legal reasons

I'm an animal lover, but taking pictures at the vets is acceptable for several reasons.
no I wouldn't expect them to be set up but i would expect immediate sedation/pain relief....actually on rethink, in a porcupine area of the US and provided the owner phoned ahead, i would expect the vet to be set up for it, just as vets in the UK round here are set up to deal with a dog bitten by an adder.

what legal reasons? what medical reasons?
That one on Snopes is from 2005... I came across this more recent case yesterday in the DM....I've not looked at Duncer's link.
