When he was 39 he met the girl of his dreams one Monday, they were engaged by weekend and married six weeks later. When both sets of parents met at the wedding my mother realised that she and the bride's mother had given birth on the same day, in the same hospital so my sister-in-law's birthday is also 23rd March. Because of their ages they decided to try for a baby right away and my nephew promptly arrived on the following March 23rd. My nephew has represented England at a sport. Wonder if he knows what good company he is in.
lots of love, dedication, time, it's what the parents of most of the children did. Toting them around to events, paying for expensive kit, and never stinting in enthusiasm and willingness to share the pain when things don't go well. Most of the athletes don't come from privileged backgrounds so it's often the parents who make huge sacrifices to make the dream come true for their child.
