Does anyone know if people who are bullied (oops, I mean encouraged) to take their item to auction by MrD are guaranteed the dealer's offer if the auction price is less?
But where the seller is cajoled by Dickinson not to accept the dealer's offer, when he or she is obviously on the verge of accepting, could it be an agreement for the sake of 'good tv'?
In other words, is some of it fixed, rigged, a set up?
I don't know for definite but I very much doubt it. They usually put quite a high Reserve on an item, so if it doesn't reach that amount, they take it home.
when they come to agreements like that (its usually the dealer who says "I will buy it for xx, take it to auction set my purchase price as the reserve and we will split any profit", theat agreement is shown. I have seen DD say take the dealers offer just as often as I have seen him say go to auction and he usually says take the dealers offer a lot more firmly.
You hc4361 & my H think its a set up, he thinks all the House refurbish & House sale, & Phil & Kirsty progs are all set ups for gullible people.
Won't watch 'em.
