I have just had the most dreadful experience
After having tea in my local my friend and I decided to walk along the canal with her new puppy
On the way back I asked if I could hold the lead
Of course the inevitable happened and I let go of the lead and the puppy ended up in the canal
My friend was busy uploading a photo to send to her daughter in south America and said all she knew about it was when she saw me kneeling by the canal dragging the dog out of the water
She said she has never laughed so much.
I am still shaking and I have had an ameretto
How sad DT, hope you didn't actually witness it, I would have gone hysterical. Saw a dog hit by a jeep in Tobago, local chap who didn't stop - but two English lads ran over to see if they could save it (sadly no)and I gave them my bottle of water I had just bought, for it to drink. The incident ruined my holiday as I kept getting flashbacks .... dreadful.
He just drove off - it was his mother who got in contact with us at the end of the morning, the dog having died in the vets.
What was disgraceful that their son did not come around with his father to apologise - jeez a 17 year old driving a Ford Expedition - if he is driving he has to take a responsibility. Father brought a cheque of 10% of the value of the dog (who came from Rutland Manor in Oz, the original breeders of Labradoodles). We just gave that to a dog charity as we were so irate with them, my eldest girl heartbroken as it was her beloved dog that she had named "Woof"
lol ric.ror - I am not, having been in the pub for supper - a crab thermidor! A snifter of wine does sound good though so I may just go and retrieve a glass.
