Electricity meter

I have to read my electricity meter periodically and send readings to my power supplier. It means getting down on my knees with a torch, pen and paper and looking in the back of the airing cupboard. The meter is small, tucked away behind other electrical apparatus and the figures it displays change every few seconds. I’m no ‘spring chicken’ and cannot cope with this indefinitely. There are numerous electricity suppliers, but can someone please tell me who is responsible for supplying and fitting meters? I live in Sussex and would like to know who to contact. Thanks for any help.

I would have thought you could get in touch with your supplier and pay to have the meter moved. I'm unsure the rules regarding you having to read it rather than their staff though.
Give your own electricity supplier a call, it's their responsibility.
I have that problem too but if they don,t come to read it themselves and need a reading I take a photo of it instead

Thank you for your thoughts. I'll wait for a day or two and see how others cope with this kind of problem.
I've found this on the Uswitch site with regards to people who have difficulty reading their meters...

"If you are disabled, chronically sick or of pensionable age, you can ask the electricity supplier to read your meter every three months if neither you nor anyone else in your household can do so".
