em10 - there's many places in all major towns and cities one wouldn't (and shouldn't) venture alone. London is no different just a lot bigger than most towns. As for Scarborough.........it's all been said!!!!!
i had never been afraid in the past to wander around London, always considered it as my town, belonging so to speak, going out to clubs, bars, pubs, eating out, no problem, not any more. Even our area has gone to the dogs.
Scarborough was the setting for the light drama series The Royal. It is also within easy reach of Mrs O's cattle prod, so be careful. Having said that, I agree that as a seaside resort it is more suited to the over 80s rather than the 18 - 30 set.
not sure that's true, we have more gangs than we used to, people involved with drugs than ever, and i not over egging the situation, but speaking from some degree of experience.
On the bright side, the pub at which I'm meeting Chain Smoker Pal at 6.00 is in a VERY jolly part of town.//
For goodness sake jj take your mate some fags I hate people who smoke chains.
Saving grace is the country and coastline. The Cleveland Way runs through it and has many really nice people to meet and chat with. As to the town itself, wouldn't care care to live down there.
