I was watching the re-run of the Olympic opening ceremony and was wondering if anybody knows the haunting piece of music that was played during the memorial wall part of the ceremony?

Or better yet a playlist of tracks. I had a qiuck Google but no joy.

I hope you aren't considering downloading it ;-p
Caliban's dream? Or was it a classical piece?
If it was just before the entrance of the athletes, it might have been Emilie Sande singing Abide with me - it is available on cd of the music used in the opening ceremony I saw it on Amazon recently
Or all of together...

Caliban's dream was a fantatsic piece but it was the part where photos of lost loved ones were being shown, just before Emile Sande sang "Abide With Me" and the dancers performed the sequence dedicated to the London bombings.

bibs - The list you gave has it down as Wonderwall and it certainly wasn't that.

snags - shut up ;-)
no - it has Heaven between Wonderwall and Abide With Me
Question Author
It's the track on Chucks video that starts around 1 hour 24 in.

I might even consider paying for this track lol
Question Author
Thanks Bibs but I am pretty sure it wasn't Emeli Sande as it was an instrumental piece.

I just listened to that all the way through and it was beautiful. I think I would like that played at my funeral.
Try some Philip Glass
