I was born in Dobcross a village in Saddleworth, which until the boundary changes in the 1970s was in Yorkshire. We were administered from Huddersfield 14 miles away on the A62, which in the winter could be closed for days, or as in 62/63 weeks. For most it was an outrage, and for some remains so, until a couple of years ago a local tradesman had his address as Saddleworth,Yorkshire. What am I, all depends where i am,but Oldham is closer. While I am on the notorious Saddleworth moor is quite some distance from the villages.
chemo ain't much fun is it owdhammer? but it it's better than the alternative - good to see you've still got a sense of humour - that'll get you through.
