Please could anyone tell me if it is permitted to give tickets away to family members? I might not be well enough to use mine on 1st September, and I would hate them to be wasted. Im hoping someone can tell me as I cant find out on the London 2012 site. Thanks so much for your help, I have to go now, but will try to pop back later to read any replies. Thanks again.

i see no reason why not.

unless they have your specific name on them, why should it matter if a member of your family uses them?
yes, you can. you can even sell them to family or friends at face value.
I don't see why not. Nobody checked my identity at the Olympics.
According to the official website 'Tickets are strictly non-transferable'

Even so I would imagine that would be ok and maybe you could give them some form of ID with your name on it just in case?
Or maybe officially submit for resale?
My tickets had my name on them and I didn't have to show any ID
Its fine to give tickets away, its only illegal to resell them publicly.

We were not asked for ID when we went to the games even though they had my name on them. A friend of ours went on his parents tickets as they couldn't go and their name was different.

So go ahead and pass them on and I hope you feel better soon.
