I never thought a 'far left' MP such as George Galloway would come out in support of such a person as Julian Assange.

I believe Sweden is even more subservient to the US regarding extradition than is the UK. If Assange is extradited to Sweden he won't be there long enough to receive a trial, he will be 'rendered' to the US so that the CIA can use their latest interrogation techniques.
If Sweden "is even more subservient to the US regarding extradition than is the UK", then why did Assange try to get Swedish residence in order to base Wikileaks there two years ago?
