Fey e fadalgia ?

Hi, any idea what 'Fey e fadalgia' means. It's from a coat of arms. TIA.

Not that close, but the family name Fey comes from the Gaelic o fathaigh (a foundation). Is it possible the motto might have been miscopied at some point?

You would have to hunt through all the related languages - galician cornish etc

I'm having a guess at faith and loyalty or the second word may be related to hidalgo (nobleman) as f/h is interchangeable - so maybe faith and honour, something like that.

"Fey e Fadalgia" I THINK means faith out (of) loyalty, as "e" means out (of) in Latin, I believe as "Fey e Fadalgia" is on the Shelley coat of arms, and they spoke Old "Frankish" French-Breton, when they came to England in 1066, it is possible that the saying is a mixture of Latin,and old French.
