Earlier today I heard "Living Next Door To Alice" on the radio, I think it was Smokie. Who had the version that had the chorus "Alice, Alice Who the **** is Alice" It was a comedian? Couldn't resist joining in with it.
Twenty-four years just waiting for a chance, To tell her how I feel, and maybe get a second glance, Now I've got to get used to not living next door to Alice...
They did a b-side on the single with Chubbs doing his own lyrics which is hilarious, and, although there is a video version on YouTube, I doubt I'd be allowed to post it.
However, if you search for Smokie & Roy Chubby Brown, the screenshot for the video is a test card...... You didn't hear it from me ;-)
I saw Roy Chubby Brown once and he told the tale -- to get away with the swear word in "Alice" he donated the song to a charity and then he said "quote" the fu*king thing went worldwide and I never saw a fu*king a penny.
Dont know if it was true or not.
