...entry from the India Office, could someone check FMP for it please? I've used the inage viewer to try to trce maybe an untranscribed entry from the filmed index but no joy, cheers

Nothing's come up oon FMP either. If you search for Thomas Stoddard then two deaths for Thomas Stoddart pop up. Searching all of the military records brings just one record under the Boer War heading:

thanks for checking, it's odd that it clearly says England in the india office record, never mind,
OK, found him. His death was registered in New Zealand
