Is there a way of finding out why a child, Amos Leonard Harper born 1904, was, according to the 1911 census in the "Cottage Homes for Children Belonging to the Wolverhampton Union, Amos Lane, Wednesfield, Wolverhampton. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you.

Cottage Homes were opened in Wednesfield on 4th November, 1890 by the Wolverhampton Board of Guardians for 240 children.
Wolverhampton Archives & Local Studies holds the Cottage Homes School log books for 1897-1930, and Committee Minute books for 1890-1930.
oops didn't see you dotty...........
in the article in my second reply it gives you info at the bottom on how to apply for records over 100 years old, less than 100years it takes longer to see them, also, read the memoir of one of the ex children there, it is terribly sad and upsetting but very very well written
and of course i didn;t see you seeing as you are under 4ft nuffin lol
