just found another. I know it's been asked before but I can't get my head round the clues given.
1.Take "something that deceives the eye" but remove the eye.
2 All should go on a diet. (awl is the answer to another question)

I think that number 1 could be Trompe (trompe (tr mp). n. An apparatus in which water falling through a perforated pipe entrains air into and down the pipe to produce an air blast for a furnace or forge.)

Thats trompe l'oeil without the l'oeil.
