Had a clear out yesterday of the under stairs cupboard. It was full of rubbish (mainly other peoples) so I decided as no one has tried to claim their crap in the 4 years I've lived here that I was binning the lot.

Bagged it all up, some for charity, some for the tip. Put the charity bags in the car and put the other bags outside the house (10) to take to the tip this morning.

Went out this morning and 8 bags had been taken!!

When I say these bags were full of crap, I mean they were really full of crap. Broken coat hangers, old ballcocks, odd socks, filthy tarmac covered hi vis coats, a mouldy blow up bed...stuff like that...

On a plus note I found my favourite little bag and 6 pairs of wellies :-)

saves you the hassle I guess......

we once left old US wired grills etc outside the gate for disposal by the Dutch trashmen when living in Holland.

My ex saw some North Africans take them off - we were waiting to hear of a story of explosions in a Rotterdam, Leiden or Amserdam, and a possible fire....
Ah well ummmm, less to take up the tip.
Good job it wasn't a mouldy blow up doll you found!
we put a metal bunk bed frame out for the scrap man and it went the day before the scrap man came round......it was without the bolts so good luck with that i said lol

Lol...did have a blow up doll once. Bought it as a joke. Her name was Pamela.

Blew it up one day when our mates were round and my son walked in and stabbed her.
Someone once nicked an old 14" tv from our drive that was due for the tip. Fair enough if they could make use of a broken rain drenched TV then they were welcome to it. I wasn't so happy a couple of days later when another TV appeared in our drive one I'd never seen before.

Lol Ratty....

When we did our kitchen someone nicked our old kitchen sink from the garden. It was rotten....must have been in the house for about 30 years!
Ratty, fair exchange is no robbery :-)
I once put out an old broken mirror and ten mins later saw an old woman dragging it up the road!

I don't think I'll bother hiring a skip again.

The attic needs clearing (again, full of other peoples crap) I'll just put it on the street and see what happens.
Put out things you don't want with a placard...Please take, no need to ask!

Works every time round here..
I once left a rucksack full of shopping on the luggage area near the front of a crowded bus. Some ****** took that.
Bagged up a load of rubbish from a jumble sale and left it outside the church hall while I fetched my car for the journey to the tip. It went, much to my joy.
Now I black bag everything, label one bag..FOR THE TIP. and the rest GOOD STUFF KEEP. Leave it for an hour or two and only have one bag for the bin.
Question Author
I would have done if there was anything worth taking.
Question Author
I think what might have tempted them is the amount of bags. How disappointed they will be :-)
Every month we have a lorry which comes round and picks up anything you want to chuck so long as two people can carry it. The following morning there is very little left! Mainly it's metal they're after. Even though electrical things won't be taken by the lorry, they are taken by these people doing the rounds. Many people make their living from this apparently.

You can weigh them in at the scrap yard.

Loads of useless stuff makes money. OH gets about 150 a week from this. He'd get 4 times that if he didn't go through his boss.

You know when they take tarmac off the roads? They sell that to farmers...Whaaaaaat!
