Hubby not well again
25 Answers
Just had the out of hours Dr out to see to hubby and his tummy. He(dr) wanted hubby to go to hospital to find out exactly what is going on,but Hubby said a stubborn NO!!
Hopefully it is a flair up of his IBS,but he went downhill fast from about 7.00pm and after last time I didn't want to take any chances.
Paracetamol and fluids where the compromise they came to,with me having to agree to phone them if he gets worse.
We are normally getting ready for bed now,so I think a long night is on the cards.Thank goodness for catch up TV.
I will let you all know how things progress.
Aya and the kids-and a poorly hubby xx

Your husband is being an idiot, full stop.
He has been advised to go to hospital but will not. But hey, why doesn't he just sit at home and let it get worse, I'm sure you and the kids will be fine with out him!
We are lucky to live in a country were health care is free and say what you will about our NHS, they do a wonderful job.
Your husband has an obligation to you and your kids to look after his health and you should stop pandering to his warped sense of 'I'm alright Jack'. Many don't have the chance to improve their health and IMO he is a fool to refuse the help offered.
I have had to deal with cancer in the last year and this would be like me saying....Oh I have terrible pain but....meh.... I'll just take some pain killers and I'll be fine.
Told you you wouldn't like it.

I know,I know, but even the Dr said last night if he does not want to go,no one can make him.
Last time he was ill,it ended up in a bad situation, him getting rushed into surgery as soon as he got there,so he understands how things can get out of control fast, that does not stop him hoping that he will get better of his own accord(again as in the past)instead of lots of people prodding and poking him and the upset of him actually being in hospital.
Oh,I suppose at the moment I am not at the stage of insisting he goes, but if he deteriorates I will call an ambulance, and I have told him that.
I might even call him a berk when he is better!

That is another point, when I was ill and not facing up to it-yep pop a painkiller and it will all go away,he said pretty much what some of you have said, about the obligation of looking after ones self for the sake of the family to me.
Double standards-yep
Pain in the bum-yep
But he is my hubby and maybe I will get to say I told you so!(to him)
Hope so
Thanks for your advice, thoughts and experiences, you are keeping me sane at the moment.
