Can any of your family or friends be there?
My personal view is that the whole point of a wedding is to stand in front of all our loved ones and make our vows to each other. I'm not religious and frankly would not have married unless we were making our promises meaningful by stating them in front of everyone.
Yes, the surroundings that you describe sound lovely and romantic but to me it's the vows that matter and the cruise would be just as lovely as a honeymoon.
I don't think it matters if your family is there or not - I married my hubbie in front of everyone and the day was awful fighting families and inlaws being horrible.

12 years later we renewed our wedding vows just us and it was perfect!!
When I get married it will just be the two of us.

Some countries require you to be there for a minimum amount of time before they allow you to get married.

no maggot no family just us two the idea came out of the blue so family being there i doubt it not decided on board but if setting was ok we'd settle for a quiet church at one of our stops many thanks
Oh FGT, that must have been awful. If my family was like that I think I would agree with you. I went to a wedding once where everyone was fighting and we left early. I can't understand why people act like that!
I don't agree about renewing vows though; if you make a vow and mean it, it doesn't need to be renewed does it?
My husband wanted to give me the wedding I never had.
Renewing of vows is quite sweet. It's expressing that 'X' amount of years down the line you still feel the same.
Thank you ummmm

and your still together thats what matters
Yup Peter it is.
You're welcome ... :-) x

Relationships change so much that you could end up loving your wife/husband even more than the day you got married. Renewing vows kinda suggests that.

Like I said, sweet.
If you intend getting married at one of your ports of call, the first thing you need to consider is residency requirements. In some countries, as in the UK, a one or two day stop-over will not be enough.

Scroll down this link to see the various requirements and regulations.

ps. I got married in Las Vegas. No residency requirements - but no cruise ships either - so that one's no good to you. ;o)

The eldest Tessera got hitched to her affianced in the Friary at Sorrento some weeks back - small 'do- like what you intend - wonderfully atmospheric, meal at the Foreigners Club afterwards, all in walking distance.
