Paralympic TV coverage on Channel 4

Is anyone else annoyed at the way Channel 4 keeps breaking into the various sporting events, as it did during the opening ceremony - to show adverts , which meant that some teams were not even shown marching into the arena.
Why on earth could BBC TV not have shown it, at least there is uninterruped coverage, with knowlegeable presenters.

Ch4 bid £9 million with a commitment to 150 hours live coverage.
BBC bid £5 million with a commitment to 50 hours live coverage.

Why didn't the BBC win the bid?

Ch4 is a commercial channel - it survives on advertising. No adverts, no Ch4.

BBC are unable to buy the rights to everything. It is on a fixed budget via the TV licence and if the licence fee was raised to allow it carte blanche to broadcast all manner of events it chose how many complaints would you expect to see on here?
