So perhaps Kirsty could somehow come to an untimely demise and leave Ty with the baby and he and Fizz could get together and be Mr and Mrs Perfect with two lovely children who live happily ever after (except that nobody in soapland lives happily ever after!)
Kirsty and Tracey could have a fight and kill each other!!!!

Deirdre is part of the street and I like her character. I like the way she sticks up for her family, as most mothers do and I enjoy her subtle two fingers to Ken when he is being superior.
There's a lot of history there and the old characters provide the background that binds the whole together. Ken and Deirdre are totally unsuited but they are making the best of a 'made their beds and will have to lie in it' situation and I know a few couples like that. Neither has the courage to leave.
It would be too sugary if every character were loveable.

I thought the fairly recent storyline with Ken and Martha was good and they do portray the step family scenario very well.
Deirdre always sticks up for Tracey against Ken; Deirdre tries to smooth the waters between Ken and Peter and who couldn't love Simon? Then there is Amy with Steve a constant, but on the sidelines in the Barlow household.
Typical modern family, well portrayed.

The reality is that Kirsty has a personality disorder. (Serious problem) but by bringing it to the attention of the gathered street people - it will make it worse ! Tyrone loves her and will go all the way because of her charm (an aspect of personality disorder) but he won't realise it until he's laying on a hospital bed with a knife in his ribs !
