that's all very well - but when it comes to giving the business community what it says it needs, ie another runway at LHR, he'll still be saying "squeak! where's the cheese?"

Humphrey got £100 but he earned that.
How did he manage to earn it? Was it for keeping silent about his time in Downing Street or for his mouse eradicating duties?

I heard a rumour that Cherie had him assassinated - if a cat doesn't like someone they can be pretty evil, maybe he bit her (and who could blame him?).

It was probably hush money dressed up as a stipend for his mouse catching duties. He knew where the bodies were buried.
