Flickr unknown referrals
4 Answers
I've had two photos which have become very popular on Flickr since the 8th of the month, and wondered who'd borrowed them (I do allow it, but they usually tell me). It's 100% from an unknown referrer, so I did a search for them myself but only came up directly from Flickr and no other site. Is there another way to trace where photos are viewed from when Flickr can't manage it? I'd rather not pay for software though for a one off job.

However, anyone could use a proxy and screen capture software then photoshop it to crop the capture.
I would put a watermark on all your pictures (in an area where cropping it would ruin the picture if someone tried to do that).
As for the person that 'borrowed' your picture. I would move on. Life is too short.

Maybe you not able to know who borrow your picture, but you can try this so you can trace now who see it or borrow.
For that you need to install grease monkey script in your Mozilla Firefox or the browser you used.
Now click Tools then grease monkey.
Manage user scripts then preferences.
Flickr views tracker and now add your Flickr stream or change the default.

I'm actually on Creative Commons so want my photos used, I just like to know who by. Many people ask or tell me but nothing's produced 50 hits a day before so must be something major.
I've had a go on Tineye but need some lessons, as it just looks like something which sends you back where you started so clearly not understanding how it works. I'll press on though, if it can show the second generation based on where they've been used elsewhere somehow I'll have completed the mission. I'll get back if I manage it.
