4 Germany gets entangled in these throws (7)
Have seen it answered as hurdles but cannot work out why ?

I'm sure hurdles is correct but I thought to throw was hurl and throws was hurls so where does the e come in.Perhaps setter has made a mistake or am I missing something?

Ah,ABerrant has explained it though never seen De for Germany

Its probably more of a "sounds like" quinie, rather than spelt correctly.

Not quite TheWinner. DE is tangled up in hurls to make hurdles. That parses OK to me.
