Does anyone know of any ghosts, myths or legends in and around Salisbury Wiltshire UK?

The legend is that the Devil was sitting on the spire one day when a bride arrived for her wedding who was still a virgin. He was so surprised that he jumped off, twisting the spire.
When another virgin arrives for her wedding, he will jump off the other way and straighten it up. So far it hasn't happened!

I think you'll find it's Chesterfield, and not Salisbury Cathedral Ewood, that has the twisted spire.
There is a whole host of myths and legends in and around the Wiltshire area. The crop circles started around Avebury(a very mystical area with the Stone Circles) and Marlborough - in fact in todays paper you can see a couple of them. Back in the 1960's hundreds of people descended on the little town of Warminster, as there had been numerous sightings of UFO's, pictures of aliens etc. Very strange happenings!
