I came to this site through Micmac my unwell husband.
I read today about badges. I don't have any, nor am I likely to get any. I am not a prolific poster. I do enter topics other than chat. Other people have posted before me so I don't answer. So other than Mamya's music thread which I sometimes post on I feel I am surplus to establishment. Thank you Ed for pointing that out to me and everyone else who does not have a badge. Are you trying to make make YOUR site just for the doctors, lawyers etc. Not forgetting the Q & P people.

Jeza, you have offended no one I am sure, you are as entitled as any of us to state your case. You are also very vulnerable at the moment and that is when things hurt us ((HUG))
Hello Jeza - hope you two are doing ok.

I am somewhat perplexed by the arrival of badges. The decision to award them seems somewhat at odds with the editorial view on such posts that have appeared in the past e.g. Who is your favourite ABer? Who is the funniest ABer? With which ABers would you not chose to spend an evening meal? etc., etc., etc.

I was always under the impression that such posts were frowned upon because they (inevitably) led to some dissatisfication of the ABers not listed and even some name-calling of the unwanted variety.

To think they say that God moves in a mysterious way ...

Hey ho. Love to you and mic xx

Thanks Mam, Ena and everyone else who understands.
I'm certainly not offended Jeza and I completely agree with you about the badges.

Robert,
That's a completely different topic
ttfn, who do you think is the cleverest ABer? I think The Lie-in-king would take some beating!
I agree with the majority of people on here. We come onto this site to ask and answer questions, have a bit of banter and get things off our chests.
If the whole thing is made into a competition it defeats the object of the whole thing.
As far as I'm concerned it won't make a ha'perth of difference as to how I treat the AB whether I receive a badge or not. (Which I haven't).
eliie , he just has a big encyclopaedia
I know not the answer to that Q, elliemay, but I am too clever to hazard a guess and upset some nice people on here ;)
Mamy, he must be able to look it up quickly!
Ooooh Matron!
Ooooh. I want one of them. Can I get lessons how to play it?
I'd say at least 50% of the genuine questions in here could be answered in less than 30 seconds on Google.
^^^^ but that wouldn't allow for personal opinion or first hand experience Mark, nor would it give any opportunity to give or receive support.
while I wouldn't call google research, mark, yes, you'd get an answer.

you wouldn't get human interaction though, and that's important for people who are exchanging information of any kind
wonder if people who have badges pin them on and then get deflated?
i tried that Lady J. i didn't deflate, i was most unimpressed, i was hoping it was a new weight loss thingy

Jeza just use the site as you need it, for support, bit of banter or whatever.
Seriously? Lol.
yeah i stuck it in my bum. nothing, nearly lost the badge though
lol on weight loss.

with you on that mccluff. didn't think it was for anything else. just post as you feel. surely that best way.
Didnt even know AB gave out badges.
