If you wanted to find an old friend on the internet, how would you go about it? Friends re-u drew a blank. Any ideas?

er,
If they are called John Smith and you last knew they were living in London , it may not be much good.
You can give the obvious one a go which is friends reunited, It's not important if you went to school with them as you can just do a name search. I have found a few people that way
Also just try putting the name into Google or Yahoo, if the name is common then this will not work too well but putting my name in for example works pretty well

Thanks people, all excellent ideas, 192 drew a blank, they were on friends re-united I emailed them a few days ago, but no reply....and they would reply, so I reckon the email address is out of date, google was good....any other ideas would be appreciated :-)
Is there anybody else on Friendsreunited who might still be in touch with the person you're after?

Actually this has got me thinking, seeing as there are 13 degrees of separation and all that, I wonder how many people I know, who any of you might know.....
(Incidentally, you can take part in an academic study of 'six degrees of separation' here: http://smallworld.sociology.columbia.edu/ -- very interesting.)

I've got to target an Australian Police Officer!
I had a Croatian academic and someone in Indonesia... it's tough!
go to friends reunited and then you can find old school friends it's simple
it's gotta be friends ... have found ex-girlfiriends, school chums & had a great time 30+ years after saying - yes we'll keep in touch! ;+)
